Henry Jacobson began his career as a documentary photographer and cinematographer before transitioning into directing, producing, and writing. In 2013 he partnered with fellow filmmaker Emma Tammi (director of the Blumhouse hit, Five Nights at Freddy's) to create Mind Hive Films, taking their combined experience into new scripted and unscripted collaborations for Film and TV. Henry's 2019 narrative feature directorial debut, Bloodline (Blumhouse/Eone), has the (some might say dubious) honor of being the only Blumhouse film ever to receive an NC17 rating - because of it's extreme brutality and explicit use of body horror practical effects. However, after buying the movie, EOne recut the film to get an R rating for its theatrical release. In the same year Mind Hive also theatrically released Emma's directorial debut, The Wind (IFC Midnight) and documentary feature Jay Myself (Oscilloscope). Previous documentary features include Election Day: Lens Across America (Blumhouse/EPIX/Hulu), Fair Chase (Netflix), and Fambul Tok (EPIX/Netflix) among many others. Henry grew up in Los Angeles attending Crossroads School, earned his BA from Hampshire College and MA from Oxford - School of Drama.
