Born Judith Ann Williams, on March 31, 1943, Judy grew up in Westville, IN until her parents moved to Iowa when she was older. She met and married her husband in Carlisle, IA, and the couple stayed together until her death on January 1, 1998. Two sons were born to them in Carlisle, IA then a daughter was born in south Florida after they moved in 1973. Judy had a passion and love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, and served in her church's youth ministry. She met Russ Doughten, Jr in Carlisle and both worked together in their local church. Judy's inspiration for the film "Happiness Is.." was brought about after watching her sons grow up with their own experiences while becoming Christians. After she and Mr. Doughten wrote a story of her sons' experiences, Mr Doughten later put it together into a movie to inspire other families.
