Ray Kril
Ray Kril was born in New Jersey, USA. Prior to coming to Malaysia he had been living and working for 20 years in the Netherlands. Kril has had more than 38 year's media production experience as a cameraperson, editor, director, actor and producer. He has lived and worked in the media in the USA, Netherlands, Guyana and Suriname with production experiences in at least a dozen other countries including: Cuba, Romania, Russia, Brazil, Albania, India, Germany and England. Kril's production experiences include film and multi media programs in sports, culture, environment, corporate information, drama and current affairs.
Over the past years Kril has concentrated his media efforts with the Guiana Shield Media Project (GSMP) which had offices in Guyana and the Netherlands. He has been the International Coordinator of GSMP and responsible for multi media production of web sites and films as well as training media workers in Guyana.
From 2002- 2010 Kril was on the faculty of Saxion University of Applied Sciences with the Academy of Art and Technology in Enschede, Netherlands. He has been teaching documentary production as well as media and anthropology. He has also been active with media productions via the production bureau of Saxion. Previously he has taught in the USA at University of Iowa, University of California and Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
From 2010-2019 Kril was a lecturer at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Malaysia. He reached status of Associate Professor in the Faculty of Communication Media and Broadcasting. Along with his teaching position he has been executive producer on several award winning films as well as consulting work on several award winning international productions. During his time in Malaysia Kril has also added acting experience to his broad portfolio of accomplishments.
Since 2019 Kril is COO and shareholder at MRA Studio located in Puchong, Malaysia https://www.marstudio.com With MRA Studio he is also doing film workshops at high schools and universities.
