Kelsey Andries (she/her) is an emerging queer writer, producer, actor and stunt performer living in Mohkinstsis (The Bow Meets The Elbow; Calgary), Alberta. Her artistic mission is to create safe, inclusive places where artists can explore their strength and vulnerability.
She produced three Ampia nominated shorts; Rerouted, Kaashitamaashoo and Scaley. She wrote Scaley and Rerouted, and co-directed Rerouted which won Best Comedy at the Edmonton Short Film Festival. She completed her first short documentary New Horizons, which was shot remotely in PyeongChang, Korea in 2021 and premiered at the 2021 CUFF.docs Film Festival. Kelsey wrote, directed and edited the documentary as a part of the Telus StoryHive Community Stories program.
In her past life, she was the 2014 IFMA Muay Thai World Champion and 2016 Bronze Medalist. When she's not writing, she can be found in the dojo honing her skills and training her rescue dog Dingo.
