As a pre-internet teenager growing up in suburban Australia, Kenn regularly undertook the hour-long train trip to the heart of Sydney, where he could watch movie trailers that would play on a multi-screen display in the foyer of the city multiplex.

His love of film meant writing screenplays was inevitable, and he began to do so with his brother. Together they wrote three feature scripts, one of which they entered in the Australian iteration of the Matt Damon/Ben Affleck creation Project Greenlight. Beating over a thousand applicants to win the million-dollar first prize, they directed their feature The View from Greenhaven the following year and it was released in 2008. Its Australian cinematic run lasted nine months and was followed by a New Zealand release.

Not long after the Australian launch, Kenn moved to the celluloid mecca of Los Angeles to pursue further opportunities in film. He penned the original feature Baptism, a dramatic thriller now being packaged, and has sci-fi actioner Dropdown underway.

A copywriter for twelve years, Kenn also keeps one foot back in his advertising roots, having directed TV commercials for some of Australia's top agencies and now doing the same in other markets.
