Sarah Ingram's journey in the visual arts began as a young photography enthusiast. Fresh out of high school, she immersed herself in photography school, discovering her passion in the darkroom. After participating in numerous art shows and developing an extensive portfolio, Sarah transitioned into the motion picture industry. She started as a film loader and progressed to become a 1st Assistant Camera/focus puller, eventually formalizing her role as a Director and Cinematographer in 2017.
Throughout her career, Sarah has had the privilege of collaborating with renowned film directors such as David Fincher, Jonas Akerlund, Spike Jones, Mark Romanek, and Sam Bayer. On the camera side, she has worked alongside legendary cinematographers and mentors, including Harris Savides, Marcell Rev, Christopher Blauvelt, Jo Willems, Martin Tiernan, Magdalena Gorka, and Jason McCormick.
Sarah's work often mirrors her life's interests and experiences. She is an avid snowboarder, mountain enthusiast, traveler, and heavy metal vocalist. Her artistic pursuits extend to screen printing and street art. Her travel destinations favor offbeat small towns with unique people. With a deep appreciation for analog methods, Sarah frequently shoots on 8mm and 16mm film. She also enjoys using exquisite, custom vintage lenses when working with digital formats.
Today, Sarah Ingram can be found exploring the realms of documentary filmmaking, music videos, and experimental art installations involving projection and video. Alternatively, you might find her in her darkroom/art studio in the Arts District of Downtown LA, where her creativity flourishes.
