Scott Whatley was born in Southend-on-Sea, England. He attended King Edward's School, where he made his acting debut as Link Larkin in a production of "Hairspray". When he was 18 he enrolled at East 15 Drama School, to train in acting.

After graduation Scott made his professional debut in the short film "Holt" and continued to work primarily in film. In 2020 he was cast in the lead role for the psychological horror feature film "Crawl to Me Darling". Most recently Scott wrapped production on political satire feature "Backbencher".
