Budapest, Hungary, Christmas 1957. The state, insecure after the defeated revolution of 1956 and increasingly put under the influence of a renewed Stalinist atmosphere, has decreed that all security officials must pass an exam to verify their loyalty. But to be actually effective in a shadowy world where suspicion and secrets reign, the subjects must be unaware that they are being tested.

The Exam

The story happens in 1989 in the suburbs of Budapest, where the neighbor maintains an underground worker's guard training base, while the youngsters fall victim to a mistakenly posted letter.

Hot summer day at a quarry pond in the middle of nowhere. Visitors swimming, enjoying the sunshine, locals find shed in the nearby grocery, more like pub. An aging man arrives with the bus, heading to the pub to get some info from locals about a lady who's living there, as she said. Being in touch for years, only in writing, so time to meet up the loved one personally, but seems like non of them knows anyone who lives around and could be the one.
