Just after World War II ends a train carrying freshly minted banknotes in wooden cases leaves Hat Yai for Bangkok. Soon after it leaves the station the officer in charge of the detail with his friends kill those guarding it and steal all of it. However in the ensuing confusion they lose it and others hide it. However even they cannot find it later until many years after they begin a new search. The officer who planned the entire scam hears about it and follows them. Who will get the money?

Satang

British soldier Peter Bain is busted for trying to sell defective firearms to influential Chinese merchant Yang. Forced to hunt wild game with these firearms along with Yang's men, Bain links up with ex-monk Wan and Karen-American hunter Julia, who he meets on the way to the jungle. The group sets off to hunt an elephant, said to be protected by a ghostly tigress that can transform itself into a woman.

While animal hunting, Wittaya and Lokrai inadvertently offend Nang Takien, the guardian spirit of the forest, who then kills Lokrai. Wittaya is forced to take care of his friend's son, Kham Thong. As a young man, Kham Thong falls in love with Wittaya's daughter Porn but Wittaya prefers Trai, a civil engineer who came to their village to coordinate the building of a dam. When the dam was completed, the village flooded and Wittaya was tasked with clearing every tree, including a big Takien tree.
