Ricky gelecek vaat eden genç bir bilim adamıdır. Ürettiği özel bir formül ile ölü hücreleri canlandırmaktadır. Ailesi öldükten sonra kardeşi Jermaine’e bakmak zorunda kalan Ricky’nin işi adeta hayatı olmuştur.  Jeramine bir kazada vurularak öldürüldükten sonra Ricky onu hayata döndürmek için özel formülünü kullanmaya karar verir. Ancak olaylar beklenmediği şekilde gelişir ve kardeşi kana susamış bir zombiye dönüşür ve bütün mahallede korkunç bir kabus yaratır.  Jeramine bütün mahalleyi zombiye çevirmeden Rick ve arkadaşları onu durdurmak zorundadır.
