Despite being 45, Werner still likes putting on the style and enjoys being a womanizer, who usually ends up in bed with the female guests that stay at the hostel in which he temporarily works. But then, Werner has to learn to take on responsibility. When he was 18, he and his former girlfriend Tine, had a daughter called Julia, who is a mother herself now. Whenever she is in desperate need of a babysitter, she approaches Werner, who then grudgingly accepts. But Werner has discovered that this new "job" is a real godsend, as when he takes his granddaughter to the playground, he is a great hit with the ladies. Charlotte Plentley is a very successful purse designer who works for a fashion business managed by Suzan Dengler.Alec Pentley is a successful architect.This Sunday Charlotte was training for a marathon when Suzan called her because she needed two purses for a fashion show.So Charlotte went to the office, prepared two purses and escaped to meet her husband in the reception that was organized for his work.Alec tells her that he will give up a very good work proposal because he needs to spend more time with Charlotte: one and a half year of marriage have passed and they need to escape to Cape Cod for example.On the way home, Charlotte ,who was driving the car, can't move her leg and has a little accident.The next day Charlotte explains Suzan that she needs to have a rest and that she will travel to Cape Cod with her husband.Alex and Charlotte leave New York and arrive near Georgetown, where they eat something.Charlotte goes outside to contest a call of Suzan and when she wants to stand up,she has a partial paralysis.They go to the hospital for some examination , Dr. Olivia Keruac, a friend of Alec tells Alec that Charlotte must rest in the house of Alec's parents and come back tomorrow for the results of the exams.So Charlotte and Alec travel to the house of Alec's parents who manage an apple farm.There Charlotte feels very tired and will sleep some hours.Again she has a moment of paralysis.Olivia , who made the examinations tells Charlotte that she is suffering multiple sclerosis and must take care very much of her health.
