Film 2. Dünya Savaşı sırasında işlediği suçlardan dolayı adalet önüne çıkarılabilmesi için Eichmann'ın izini süren Mossad'ın İsrail casus grubunu temel alıyor. 1960'lı yıllarda Arjantin'de geçen hikayede, grubun liderliğini üstlenen Peter Malkin, Nazi savaş suçlusu Adolf Eichmann'ı bulmak için sınırları zorluyor, tarihin kanayan yarası için adaleti sağlamaya çalışırken bir yandan da kendi acılarına rağmen objektif kalmaya çalışıyor. Malkin'in kız kardeşi ile kardeşinin çocuklarını öldüren Eichmann, Yahudilerin Avrupa'daki toplama kamplarına gönderilmesinden de sorumluydu. 2. Dünya Savaşı'nın ardından Avusturya'ya kaçan Eichmann, oradan da Arjantin'e geçmişti.  Başrolünde Oscar Isaac'in yer aldığı filmin senaryosunu Matthew Orton kaleme alırken, yönetmen koltuğunda ise Chris Weitz oturuyor.
