"The Wayang Kids" follows the adventures of a group of primary school children in Singapore that seek to overcome their personal struggles while representing their school in an international Chinese opera performance. A boy among this group must push through his autism to ultimately prove to everyone and himself that he has what it takes to be on stage. The story follows Shanghai hitman Zhao as he prepares to retire. He receives two kill contracts, both to take place at the same time and the same location: but the target of one contract is the consignor of the other. In order to make up for a mistake he made long ago, Zhao decides to take on both contracts and to make a fortune for his salvation. But what awaits him is a huge and complex abyss.
