The film is set in the near future, in a world of perfect capitalism. Society is sustained by a class of top achievers; meanwhile, so-called minimum recipients live under sedation in Fortresses of Sleep. The great majority of top achievers view themselves as happy. An outsourced agency has been established for the rest: Life Guidance is charged with turning these individuals into optimal people as well. Alexander has internalized the system but one wrong word to his child triggers Life Guidance. He starts to rebel and encounters the horror of the system in all its brightness and affability.

Life Guidance

A snowed-in holiday hotel. A dead body in a room locked from the inside. The hotel manager wants to cover it up, but in the blink of an eye the whole hotel knows about it. Among the guests is an inspector - or at least he convincingly claims to be - who, together with his assistant who has travelled with him, undertakes extensive investigations. Then even a second murder takes place!

The Final Problem

Inspector Bergmann and his new colleague Anni Sulmtaler find themselves dealing with a sinister murder on Halloween of all days. During a session with the medium Vera, a woman is shot through the window. The murder weapon is the husband's hunting rifle. But he can't be the perpetrator. Only Vera's controlling spirit knows the truth, but unfortunately it evades any questioning.

Commissioner Sandra Mohr suspects a connection between two prostitutes murdered in a similar way, but her superior, Sascha Bergmann, dismisses the obvious suspicion that a serial killer could be in Styria. The evidence is still too meager for him, and at the moment his attention is more on his career or the prospect of promotion. When the state police department puts a female boss in front of him, Bergmann falls from the clouds: self-confident profiler Nicole Sturm is an ex he left for another woman. Meanwhile, Bergmann's heavily-pregnant colleague and almost-daughter-in-law Sandra ignores his order to limit herself to gentle office work. On the way home at night, the inspector observes a suspicious scene with a prostitute who seems to be afraid of a suitor. Sandra intervenes, a shot is fired, the woman flees, and the man escapes. Bergmann and his new colleague Anni Sulmtaler know that they absolutely must find the frightened witness from the extremely cunning murderer. A race against time begins.

An all-girl Catholic boarding school near Vienna for the wealthy Austrian elite and their children. The school is thriving, but faith is declining and the upper floors are de­ser­ted. The head of the institution, a young energetic nun, fights with ardor against this decline. Martha, 12, one of the nun’s favorite pupils, is a devoted girl who wishes to expiate the sins of the world. Encouraged by the nun, she is given a penance belt and taken to the abandoned upper floor.
