1957 Noel arifesinde, genç RAF pilotu Freddie, Almanya'dan İngiltere'ye uçmaktadır. Telsizi ve elektriği kesilip, Kuzey Denizi üzerinde mahsur kalınca, kendini tehlikenin içinde bulur. A group of strangers grapple with this impossible question as they find themselves in a bureaucratic waiting room between life and death.
