Ukraine during the German occupation in 1943. 12-year-old orphan Mitka earns a living in a tavern under a false name by playing music every night for the mainly German guests. He is accompanied in his playing on the violin by the pianist Yegor. Even beyond the music, he tries to be a friend and mentor to the boy. Mitka, however, finds it difficult to accept the budding friendship. This is because none of the people involved has any idea that Mitka belongs to a Jewish partisan movement.

Ambitious young entrepreneur Marcel Lange wants to create a monument for himself and his family with a new high-end village. Full of drive, he convinces his mentor and superior Hartmut to build the first villa in "Neu-Plünderich am See". But in order to fully convince the energy company and employer ÖZEV, the old village has to be completely vacated, but his sister Franca stands in his way. In order to prevent the destruction of the village and the surrounding nature, she occupies the former family home in Alt-Plünderich. To make her point, she intends to develop an electric storage system that will be powered by wind and solar energy and make everyone in the village self-sufficient. Together with her friend Vitali, she defends the old house by any means necessary.
